My journey at ACS started on Monday 7th April 2003 after successful interviews with our joint Managing Director, John Harley and my manager at the time, Nicola Harding. I started with the business as a purchasing administrator after leaving a job that I had been in for 3 years, which at the time was the longest I had been in one job. Looking back, moving to ACS was the best decision I made. I have never looked back.

I really do love my job at ACS. No day is the same, it is full of challenges but I love that. My work colleagues and everyone at ACS are all lovely people. I look forward to coming into the office every day because the sales floor is full of banter and laughter and everyone is friendly and helpful.

The time I have spent here has been a rollercoaster fun time. ACS value you and support you to be the best person you can be and within 2 years I was given an opportunity to get my NVQ to become a team leader. By this time, I knew the system inside out.

When I started there were 40-50ish people working for ACS. We now have over 100. We have expanded and have a recruitment office, an apprenticeship scheme dealt with by starting off and our London office. We are forever growing, but the staff are never classed as a number by the directors. We are a big family that supports each other and work very well together.

In my nearly 13 years spent at ACS I have felt nothing but support throughout my life challenges and goals. I have worked for various companies, but ACS is the best company by far. I think the time I have worked here says it all. ACS make work fun.

The summer BBQ

Held for all ACS staff and family – children are invited and there are bouncy castles and lots of fun things to do.

The Christmas party for staff

Always held at lovely places and you get to dress up all glam and there is lots of fun to be had, sometimes rather messy I remember through the years I have been here.

The Children’s Christmas party

These are always magical and the children love it. They have activities and they meet Father Christmas and have a Christmas present courtesy of ACS.

The AGM

Held April/May time at the end of our financial year end. We celebrate our success as a business through the year and staff are awarded for their work. If you receive an award you have a trophy engraved, champagne and a certificate. Also in addition to this the winners get to go on a trip. These are in secret locations decided by the managers. I have been lucky enough to go on some trips that I was nominated for, Las Vegas and Rome which were wonderful. 

On top of all of this we are given our birthday day off in addition to our annual holiday entitlement which is such a lovely thing for them to do.

I think I could be here all day gushing about how ACS has made me the person I am now. I have learnt so much and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this journey you have taken me on. I look forward to the next 13 plus years as I’m sure they will also be a fun filled journey for me.
