Scripture Union is a registered charity with 80 staff, over 4,000 volunteers, 45 local mission partners, and 20 trustees. The charity was founded over 140 years ago and works in over 120 countries. They make God’s good news known to children, young people and families.
Scripture Union engaged with the ACS workplace team as they began the process of downsizing. They downsized from a 20,000 Sq. ft, 1980’s building, to their new 7,000 Sq.ft office in Fox Milne. Due to this they needed a partner that could design and refurbish the entire building. They needed help create a modern and collaborative workspace, inline with their own values and branding.
The brief for ACS was to create a variety of workspace areas within the smaller premises without the team feeling cramped. Our in-house design team worked closely with the charity’s project management team. This involved creating a concept of zones within the office for different types of work.
First, a light colour scheme was agreed upon that suited existing branding. This also involved the inclusion of the latest furniture from Orangebox, Frovi and Ocee design. As a result, this helped complete the contemporary look of the office. All of the refurbishment work was completed by the ACS team. This included the supply and installation of all flooring, paint work, cabling & AV, partitioning, and furniture.
The overall result of the project is a light and bright space where staff have a variety of workspace areas to choose from, including collaboration and concentration areas. Some of the team’s favourite areas within the new office include the painted whiteboard wall, the media reef unit, and also the new boardroom.
