Cost concerns eradicated as ACS completes high-end office refit for Sava
Established in 1983, Sava (formerly National Energy Services) lives by its motto of ‘making buildings better’ – something it has been doing for over three decades.
Sava provides technology, education and compliance services to surveyors and building owners in the property industry. With roots in home condition surveying and energy assessment, Sava’s team consists of engineers, building physicists, software developers and residential surveyors.
The Milton Keynes company decided to treat its office to a refit, but following a detailed specification provided by a high-end design company, it looked like the budget would need to be revised in order to obtain the quality they yearned for.
Thankfully, Sava headed back out into the market and engaged with ACS – a team that was more than willing to meet the challenge head-on.
The brief put together by the high-end design company was comprehensive and included a detailed specification. Even though it was set against a relatively large budget, the project still looked set to become too costly.
Undeterred, Sava contacted ACS, and challenged us to complete the refit of their office to the high spec and design level they desired, but within the boundaries of their sizeable yet tightly-controlled budget.
The ACS solution
Thanks to close partnerships with suppliers, ACS were able to provide a far more cost-effective project for Sava without compromising on the quality of furniture.
We love a challenge, and the Sava project immediately presented issues relating to the proposed design. The considerable buying power of ACS allowed a lot of the first choice, high-quality furniture to be sourced but at a more competitive price and for alternative products to be selected from other manufacturers of equivalent quality. With the cost savings made, ACS were able to ensure that the distinctive design features demanded by the customer such as the high-end fabrics, designer wall coverings and distinctive flooring were as originally specified.
The acs team laid the design-led flooring in the entrance of the building and supplied hard wearing, aesthetically pleasing tiles throughout the rest of the office. Further savings were made by retaining some areas that had unworn carpet tiles, and kitchen units were refurbished instead of replaced.
Working with an existing design is always a challenge, but it’s never too much trouble for the ACS team, as demonstrate by the speed and efficiency with which they carried out the Sava office refit.
It all started with the cabling and A/V team, who worked directly with Sava’s IT Manager to ensure the in-house tech and infrastructure was ready to support the new furniture. Individual items of furniture were then examined before installation to ensure the design wouldn’t compromise quality or employee comfort.
Flooring designs were also tested to ensure the right patterns and finishes were achievable. As a result, some key design changes were made, resulting in a more suitable colour for the floor.
ACS carried out regular on-site meetings to ensure the Sava team were happy with progress and given ample opportunity to confirm if their expectations were being met.
Within weeks, Sava went from what appeared to be an over-budget project to one that was delivered almost entirely to the original spec, within budget and which resulted in a modern, comfortable office environment.
The Sava team are delighted with the new office, which includes a welcoming, stylish reception, cafe breakout area, three formal meeting rooms and a range of ‘away-from-the-desk’ meeting options at various levels.
