The Client 

Neves offer a broad range of legal services regionally and nationally. With over 70 employees, the regional offices enable clients to benefit from their local knowledge of courts, property, businesses and other professionals.

The Requirement 

In 2012, Neves decided they needed to update their current in-house server-based systems and move away from their IT supplier at the time. The aim was to increase ease of remote working and have a scalable IT and practice management solution that could expand with the business without unnecessary, heavy capital expenditure moving forward

The solution

ACS was approached to assist with the project and to provide different solution options, including a rebuild of the in-house equipment at the time and totally cloud based servers. After initial discussions with ACS consultants the IT Partner, Stewart Matthews decided that embracing Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) would give the practice a new way of working to increase productivity, control data growth and at the same time reduce the need for a significant capital investment.

It was important to have constant access to email on all devices so the on-premise Exchange environment was moved to Datastore’s secure hosted Exchange solution replicated across their two Tier 4 Data centres.

The overall solution provided increased communications, availability, a disaster recovery solution and remote access for all users to all practice management and other applications from anywhere with an internet connection. Secure, online back-up services were also taken to meet data protection and retention needs of Law firms.
